Service Description

Taught by SG Co-Founder and full-time Voice Actor, Melissa Medina to standing (and floor-sitting) room only at the VO Atlanta conference. It's been requested by multiple VO conferences, and it's now available remotely! Ever wondered which genre of Character Acting you'd be best in but not sure where to start? Have you been Voice Acting for a while and looking to break out of your same old territory? This class is meant to spark a curiosity about genres of acting, as a guided sampler platter through genres of Character Work to help you understand stylistic choices in each genre. For some, you'll get great inspiration to try something different in the booth. For others, you'll see a concrete usable system you can use to begin honing your skills in multiple character genres while building your Performance Vocabulary. In this 2.5 hour class + open Q&A, you will: Explore genre acting styles from notable examples Learn how to mentally "download" & analyze performances Understand stylistic choices and genre techniques, and how they change the way you approach a scene Learn industry and performance vocabulary and terminology to help your auditions & your sessions
